The first truck was tested at the north west corner of the footings. Air content was recorded and reported as 6.0% and slump was recorded and reported as 6.0 inches. Results were immediately reported to Tom with Bart Stevens. Concrete placement was observed to meet specifications with standard mechanical vibration. We set up a work station and prepared our equipment. The first truck arrived at 1:00 pm and we sampled from the chute at 1:15 pm. We found the temperature to be within the specifications, as well as the unit weight. Our airpot failed so air was unknown. Super plasticizer was added, increasing the allowable slump to 6 in. However, the slump was found to be 8.5 in. We reported this to the contractor and he was ok with it, and then created cylinders. Cylinders were left at the east side of the job site. Tested By: C. Air continent was recorded and reported as 6.0% and slump was recorded and reported as 8.25 inches. Temperature was measured to be 60.0°F. These test results were reported to and accepted by Tom with Bart Stevens Construction. Strength test specimens were made and left on site. Concrete was observed to be placed according to specifications with standard mechanical vibration. Placement was completed around 2:00 PM. I found it to be within the given specifications. The first concrete truck arrived at 7:01 am. After more than 1.1 cubic yards had been poured, I sampled from the truck and began my field tests. I found the temperature and slump to be within the given specifications; the air was lower than the given specifications, however, as it is an interior building pad, air content is irrelevant. After performing my tests, I created cylinders and observed the rest of the pour. I observed the concrete being placed with a pump truck and being vibrated mechanically. The 33.0 yards originally ordered were not enough to finish the project, so another 8.5 yards were ordered. The last truck arrived at 8:22 am. I observed the placement of the concrete.
