The contractor is interested in building the building with a waiver of any payment to the City for one year. The Mayor also discussed an email he had received from a college student with reference to wanting the college students to be residents of Rexburg for the census but not being interested in having them vote in our elections. The Mayor will respond to this letter. The joint funding of the bike path with Madison County was reviewed. It was determined that Richard and Stephen should together review all the bills on the bike path, sort it out and get it cleared with the County. Donna related conversations which had been brought to her attention from downtown merchants concerning parking. Western Watts employs so many people that all the parking spots are taken st on 1 North and Main Street part way down and Bio-Medics uses the other part of Main Street and there is no parking for other businesses. She just asked the Council to think about solutions.
