HomeMy WebLinkAboutEXECUTIVE SESSION JANUARY 19, 2000 EXECUTIVE MEETING January 19, 2000 Present:Glen PondPaul Pugmire Farrell YoungKay Beck Marsha BjornnRichard Horner John MillarMarilyn Hansen The concern for this Executive Meeting were some personal problems with Stephen Zollinger as follows: 1.Representing the City of Rexburg and Madison County. The county has its own attorney 2.When Stephen steps down to represent ZOCO there is no legal adviser for the City. 3.He is an appointed employee of the City with 32-1/2 hours weekly, he represents the City of Driggs, Madison County and has some private practice on the side. After much discussion it was suggested that a legal counsel, with municipal experience be hired on a retainer for conflicting circumstances so that the City would have legal representation. There was also discussion that some felt it was to the City’s advantage to have Steve work with the county so that the City could stay abreast of ongoing items in the county. It was the suggested that this matter be turned to the Personnel Committee to look at options for this issue. The airport letter which had been published in the Rexburg Standard Journal was discussed. It was felt that this was clearly an insubordination and that the Airport Board has not served the best interests of the City. A motion was made by Kay Beck and seconded by Paul Pugmire to return to regular session.
