AN ORDINANCE DEEMING IT ADVISABLE TO ISSlj~ MUNICIPAL COUPON
BONDS OF THE CITY OF REXBUHG, MADISON COUNTY, STATE OF IDAHO,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $28,000.00, FOR.THE PURPOSE OF IMPROVING
THE ARTHUR PORTER, JR. PUBLIC PARK BY COMPLETING A SWIMMING
POOL THEREIN; PROVIDING FOR A SPECIAL ELECTION IN SAID CITY
TO VOTE UPON THE QUESTION OF ISSUING SUCH BONDS AND SPECIFYING
PROVISIONS TO BE MADE FOR THE PAYUENT OF SUCH BONDS.

WHEREAS, it is deemed necessary at this time that the Arthur Porter Jr. Public Park
in the City of Rexburg, Idaho, be improved by the completion of a swimming pool located
"therein, and
WHEREAS, the City of Rexburg, Idaho, does not have funds available for said purpose, and
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable by this City Council that municipal coupon bonds or said
City in the amount of $28,000.00 be issued and sold for such purpose,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE HAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, MADISON
COUNTY, STATE OF IDAHO:
Section 1. That it is deemed advisable by the City Council that municipal coupon bonds
of the City of Rexburg in the amount of $28,000.00 be issued and sold to provide funds
for the purpose of improving the Arthur Porter, Jr. Public Park by completion of the
swimming pool located therein.

Section II. That such bonds shall bear interest at a rate not to exceed five per cent (5%)
per annum, payable semi-annually, and shall mature and be payable upon an annual amorti-
zation plan, the first annual amortized principal payment to mature and be payable at
the expiration of two years from and after the date of the bonds, and the last annual
amortized principal payment to mature and be payable at the expiration of twelve years
from and after the date of the bonds and the various annual maturities shall be, as
nearly as practicable, in such principal amounts as will, together with the accruing
interest on all outstanding bonds of such issue, be met and paid by an equal annual tax
levy for the payment of the principal of said bonds and interest thereon during the term
for which such bonds shall be issued in accordance with provisions of Section 50-2811
Idaho Code, and the Hunicipal Bond Law of Idaho; that said bonds shall be in denominations
of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or multiples there~ numbered consecutively, beginninq
\vith the 'nunh er one, the bonds being payable in numerical order, the lowest number first.
Said bonds shall be redeemable at the option of the City six years afte their date and
on interest payment ddates thereafter in inverse numet'ical order.

Section III. That for the purpose of providing funds to pay the interest on said bonds
promptly when the same falls due and akso a stnkin,g fU.nd for the payment of said bonds
at maturity, there shall be levied annually upon all of the taxable property insaid city,
in addition to all other taxes, a sum sufficient to pay the interet on said bonds and to
provide for the payment of the principal thereof as they mature, and all such taxes
must be levied, assessed and collected as other taxes until the bonds so issued are
.fully paid and the faith, credit, and all taxable property within the said city are and
must continue pledged for the punctual payment of the principal of and the interest on
said bonds when due.

Section IV. That a special election of the qualified electors who are taxpayers of tlB
City of Rexburg, Idaho, be and the same is hereby called to be held on Tuesday, the 28th
day of ~lurie, 1960, for the purpose of enabling the qualified electors who are taxpayers
of said City to vote upon the question of issuing said bond. That at said election the

issued in manner provided by the Hunicipal Bond La,.; of the State of Idaho.
Section IX. This ordinance, upon its passage and approval, shall be published in one
issue of the l1exburg Standard, a weekly newspaper printed and published and of general
circulation in the City of Rexburg, Idaho, and shall take effect and be in full force
immediately after its passage, approval and publication.
Section X. All ordinances or parts of ordinances of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, in con-
flict with this ordinance or any part thereof are hereby repealed.

REVENUE PlillPOSES OF SAID CITY AND FOR INTEHEST ON THE BONDED INDEBTED
NESS AND FOR SINKING FUND, AND APPROPRIATING TO THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS,
OFFICES, AND FUNDS OF THE SAID CITY GOVERNMENT SUCH SUMS AS MAY BE

Bill of the City of Rexhurg, Idaho, for the fiscal year 1900-1961.
Section 2. Ther'e is hereby levied upon all taxable property within the city
limits of the City of Hexburg, and subject to taxation for the city purposes of said
City Government at the rates following:
For general revenue ptlrposes ten (10) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For street lighting purposes five (5) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For interest on outstanding bonds of the city, and for sinking fund to pay maturing
installn~nts of such bonds, seven (7) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For streets and alleys fund purposes five (5) mills on each dollar of assessed
valuation.

For municipal library purposes one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed val ua tion.
For Police Hetirement purpose s one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For Fire Department pl irposes two (2) mills on each dollar of qssessed valuation.
For Health and Sanitation purposes one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For Municipal Park purposes one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.

Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby empowered and directed to certify the fore-
goin~ to the proper officers of Madison pounty, Idaho, for entry upon the tax rolls of
said County for the collection in the manner provided by law.
Section 4. The City Treasurer is hereby empowered and directed to apportion
the moneys received on account of taxes hereby levieg, and from all other source~,
to the several funds for which levies are made and to which moneys are appropriated as
in this ordinance provided.
