ORDINANQE NO. 407, CONT.
Section VI. It ~hall be unlawful and constitute a public offense for any per~on to violate any
of the provisions of this ordinance. Every per~on convicted of the violation of thi~ ordinance ~hall
upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine of not more than $100.00, or by imprisonment in the
city jail for not more than 30 days, or by both such fine and imprisonment, pl~s the cost~ of prosecu-
tion. In the event of default in payment of such fine and costs, any such person so convicted of the
violation of thi~ ordinance shall be confined in the city jail for the payment thereof at the rate of
$1.50 per day.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE KAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO:
Section 1: That Ordinance No. 402 of the City ot Rexburg, Idaho, be, and the same is hereby
repealed.

BE IT ORDAINED BY th~ Mayor and Council of the City of Rexburg, Idaho:
SECTION 1. This ordinance shall be and is hereby termed the annual Appropriation Bill of the
City of Rexburg, Idaho, for the fiscal year 1957-1958.
SECTION 2. There is hereby levied upon all taxable property within the City limits of the City
of Rexburg, .and subject to taxation for the City purposes of said City Government at the rates following:
For general revenue purposes ten (10) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For street lighting purposes four (4) mills on each dpllar of assessed valuation. '

For interest on outstanding bonds of the City, and for sinking fund to pay maturing install-
ments of such bonds, seven (7) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.

For streets and alleys fund purposes four (4) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For municipal library purposes one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For Police Retirement purposes on (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For Local improvement district guarantee fund one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby empowered and directed to certify the foregoing to the
proper officers of Madison County, ~daho, for entry upon the tax rolls of said County for the collection
in the manner provided by law.
SECTION 4. The City Tteasurer is hereby empowered and directed to apportion the moneys
feceived on account of taxes hereby levied, and from all other sources, to the several funds for which

levies are made and to which moneys are appropariated as in this ordinance provided.

SECTION 5. The revenue for the City of Rexburg for the fiscal year 1957-1958 from all
sources received are hereby appropriated to the several funds and purposes which are hereby de-
clared to be necessary for such purposes as shown by the Budget of the City heretofore adopted for
said fiscal year, respectively, as follows, to-wit:
A. ADMINISTRATIVE DEPAR'IMENT - GENERAL EXPEllSE FUND:
From moneys received on account of taxes levied and other available sources, there is hereby appro-
priated to the General Expense Fund Administrative Departments and Sundries, the sum of $28,~15.00
B. LAW ENFORCEMENT DEPARTI1ENT: From the moneys received on account of taxes levied and
other available sources, tnere is hereby appropriated to the Law Enforcement Department the sum
of $36,000.00.

C. WATER DEPARTMENT: From the revenue dreived from the waterworks system of the City
during the fiscal year 1957-1958, the moneys now on hand in the waterworks fund, and other revenues
available, there is hereby appropriated the sum necessary to defray the expenses of operating and
maintenance of said system during the fiscal year 1957-1958, and from such revenue, and for said
purposes, there is hereby appropriated the sum of $40,000.00.
D. IRRIGATION DEPARTMENT: All moneys received on account of the irrigation system of the
City of Rexburg, and distribution of water thereby to the inhabitants of the City, are hereby
appropriated to the City Ditch Fund for the payments of salaries, wages and other necessary expense
of operation and maintenance of said irrigation system, there is hereby appropriated to the Ditch
Dund for such purposes from moneys not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $5,500.00.
E. S'IREETS AND ALLEYS DEPAR'IMENT: From moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof
and other revenues available, there is hereby appropriated to the streets department of the City of
Rexburg, for maintenance and improvements of public streets and alleys the sum of $30,000.00.
F. PARKS DEPAR'IMEN T: From moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof and other
revenues available, there is hereby appropriated to the parks department of the City of Rexburg,
for maintenance and improvements of public parks the sum of $4,000.00.
G. LIBRARY FUND: From moneys received on account of taxation and other revenue available
there is hereby appropriated to the Library Department for salary of Librarian the sum of $1,200.00.
H. STREET LIGHTING DEPAR'IMENT: From the moneys received on account of taxation and other
sources available, there is hereby appropriated to the Street Lighting Department, for the payment of
the cost of street lighting and maintenance, the sum of $6,000.00.
1. AIRPOOT DBPAR'IMENT: From moneys received from taxation and other available sources there
is hereby appropriated to the Airport Department Fund, for ganera1 operating expense, the sum of
$500.00.
J. BOND INTEREST AND SINKING: From moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof and
other available sources, there is hereby appropriated for the payment of interest on outstanding
general obligation bonds of said City and the payment of maturing installments on such indebtedness,
the sum of $12,316.44.

hereby appropriated to the Firemen's Retirement FYnd, for the paymEllt of retirement benefits, the
sum of $350.00.
M. All revenues of the City of Rexburg, received during the fiscal year 1957-1958 not
hereby otherwise appropriated, are hereby appropriated to the GEIleral Fund of the City.
N. RECRltATICfi DEPAR'lMEN.t: From moneys received on account of taxes levied and other sources
available, there is hereby approp,riated to the Recreation Department the sum of $1,000.00.
O. LOCAL IMPROVEMFBT DISTRICT GUARANTEEt From moneys received on account of taxes levied
and other sources available, there is hereby appropriated to the Local Improvement District Guarantee
Fund the sum of 11,756.63.

P. HEALTH AND SANITATICN DEPARTMENT: From moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof
and otner revenues available, there is hereby appropriated to the Health and Sanitation Department
for the maintenance of Public Physician and Nurse, garbage removal and dump ground labor and expense,
the sum of $10,oQO.00.
