Loretta M. Rigby, City Clerk, is ex-officio registrar of said city. The place of registration
is the office of said City Clerk at the City Hall.
Persons may register on each .day at any time during the office hours of said Clerk,
beginning vdth the day that the Notice of Election is given and continuing until and including
the Saturday next preceding the election, persons may register between the hours of 9 o'clock
A.M. and 5 o'clock P.M. and between the hours of 7 o'clock P.M. and 9 o'clock P.M.
The voting at said election shall be by ballot. The ballot to be supplied the voters for
their use at siad election shall be in the form set out in Ordinance No. 384.

Section 8. If at such electi'on two-thirds of the qunlified electors who are taxpayers in
such city voting at such election assent to the issuing of such bonds they shall be issued in
manner provided by the IlMunicipal Bond Law" of the State of Idaho.
Section 9. This ordinance, upon its passage and approval, shall be published in one issue
of the Rexburg Standard, a weekly newspaper printed and published am. of general circulation in
the City of Rexburg, Idaho, and shall take effect and be in full force immediately upon its
passage, approval, and publication.
Section. 10. All o~nances or parts of ordinances of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, in conflict
..lith this ordinance or an,J part hereof are hereby repealed.

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR FIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION IN CONNECTION WITH
HAZi~jiOOUS MATERIALS AND PROCESSES.
BE IT O~~I~ED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO:
Section i: There is hereby adopted by the City of Rexburg for the purpose of providing for
fire prevention and protection in connection with hazardous materials and processes that certain
code known as the 'Fire Prevention Code, Abbreviated Edition, recommended by the National Board
of Fire Undervn-iters 'of New York, being particularly the 1950 edition thereof, and the 'Nhole
thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended, of which
not less then three copies have geen and now are filed in the office of the Clerk of the City
of Rexburg, and the same are hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length
herein, and from the date on which this ordinance shall take effect, the provisions thereof
shall be c.o~~~oll~ vrithin the limits of the City of Rexburg.
Section 2;" Wherever the word ''Municipality'' is used in said code, it shall be held to mean
the City ~~ R~ibu~g~

Closely built up, mercantile and residential areas, such areas to be defined

Section 4; The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance or of the code
hereby adopted shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof.
Section 5: Ordinances or parts thereof in force at the time this ordinance shall take
effect and inconsistent here,vith, are hereby repealed.
Section 6: This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage,
approval, and publication as required by law.

IDAHO, FOR THE FISCAL T.t!:AH 1953-1954: LEVYING TAXES FOR GENERAL REVEkUE
PURPOSES OF SAID CITY AND FOll. INTZREST on THE BONDED INDEBTEDNESS AND Fon
,SINKING FUND: AND AP?ROPRIATING TO THE SE.'VEBAL DEPARTMENTS, OFFICES, AND
FUNDS OF THE SAID CITY GOVERN1TENT SUCH SUMS AS MAY BE NECESSARY OR DEEl,lED
NECESSARY, BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL, TO DEFRAY THE EXPENSES AND
LIABILITIES OF SAID CITY FOR Trill FISCAL YEAR 1953-1954.
AND BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the City of Re.xburg, Idaho:
SECTION 1. This ordinance shall be and is hereby termed the Annual Appropriation Bill
of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, for the fiscal year 1953-1954.
SECTION 2. There is hereby levied upon all taxable property within the City limits of
the City of Rexburg, and subject to taxation for the City purposes of said City Government
at the rates following:
For General Revenue purposes ten (10) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For Street Lighting purposes one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For interest on outstanding bonds of the City, and for sinking fund to pay maturing
iilstallments of such bonds, three and one-half (3.5) mills on each dollar of
assessed valuation.

For streets and alleys fund. purposes six (6) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For he~th and sanitation purposes one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For municipal library purposes one-half (.5) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For city park purposes three(3) mills on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For Police Retirement purposes one (1) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For recreation fund purposes one-half (.5) mill on each dollar of assessed valuation.
For fire department purposes one and one-half (1.5) mills on each dollar of assessed
valuation.

SECTION 3. The City Clerk is hereby empowered and directed to certify the foregoing to
the proper ojf.'ficers of Madison County, Idaho, for entry upon the tax: rolls of said County
tor the coll~ction in the manner provided by law.

SECTION~4. The City Treasurer is hereby empowered and directed to apportion the moneys
received on ccount of taxes hereby levied, and from all other sources to the several funds
for which Ie, ies are made and to which moneys are appropriated as in this ordinance provided.

SECTION' 5. The revenue for the City of Rexburg for the fiscal year 1953-1954 from all
sources received are hereby appropriated to the several funds and purposes vffiich are hereby
declared to be necessary for such purposes as shown by the Budget of the City heretofore
adopted for said fiscal. year, respectively, as follows, to-wit:
A. AOONISTRATIVE DEPARTMENT - GENERAL EXPENSE FUND: From moneys received on account
of taxes levied, and other available sources, there is hereby appropriated to the General
Expense Fund Administrative departments and Sundries, the sum of $16,940.00.
B. LAW ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT: From the moneys received on account of taxes levied and
other available sources, there is hereby appropriated to the Law Enforcement Department the
sum of $29,944.00.
