AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED THE lIAIJNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL OF THX
CITY OF REXBURGl1: LEVING TAXES FOn GENERAL HEVENUE PURPOSES OF
SAID CITY AND FOR INTEREST ON Tm BONDED INDEBTEDNESS THEREOF,
AND SINKING FUND: _..\.lW APPROPRIATING TO THE SEVERAL DEPARTMENTS
OFFICES AND FUNDS OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT, SUCH SUMS OF MONEY AS
MAY BE NECESSARY, OR DEEMED NFI.:ESSARY, BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COUNCIL TODEFRAY THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF SAID CITY FOR
THE FISCAL YEAR 1940.
BE IT ORDAINED BY the Mayor and Council of the City of Rexburg, Idaho:
SECTION 1.- This ordinance shall be and is hereby termed liThe Annual Appropriation Bill
of the City of Rexburg" for the fiscal year 1940.
:')]?,cTI6N 2.- There is hereby levied upon all the'taxable property within the limits of the
city of 'Rexburg, and subject to taxation hr city purposes, in and for the year 1940, taxes' for the
several purposes and at the rates following:
For general revenue purposes, ten mills on each dollar of assessed vlaue.
For interest on outstanding bonds of said city and sinking fund, ten mills
on each dollar of assessed value.
SECTION 3.- The City 8lerk is ,hereby authorized and directed to certify the fore-
going levies to the proper officers of Madison County for entry upon the tax rolls~f said county
for collection in the manner proveded by law.
SECTION 4,- The City Tr4asurer is hereby directed to apportion the money received on
account of taxes hereby levied, and from all other sources, to the several funds for which said
levies are made, and to which moneys are appropriated as in this prdinance provided.

SECTION 5.- The revenues of the City of Rexburg for the fiscal year 1940, from all
sources received, are hereby appropriated to the several funds and purposes, respectively, as
follows, which are hereby declared to be necessary for such purposes as shown by the budget of the
city for said year, to-wit:
A.- General ~n6e"Fund,- From moneys. received on account of taxes levied and
other available revenue tnere' is hereby appropriated to the general expense fund of the city
government the sum of $15,700.00.
B.- Water Department.- From revenue derived from the water works system of the city
for the fiscal year 1940, and from moneys now on hand in the water works fund and other revenues
~vailable" there is hereby appropriated the amount necessary to defray the expenses. of operation
and maintenance of said system during the fiscal year 1940,' and from such revenues and for said
purposes there is hereby appropriated the sum of $10,000.00.
c.- Streets Department.- From moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof, and
other revenues available, there is hereby appropriated to.the streets department of the city of
Rexburg for maintenance and improvement of public streets, alleys, parks and public grounds the
sum of $9,600.00.
D.- Ditch Department.- All moneys received from and on account of the irrigation
system of tha city of Rexburg and the distribution of water'thereby to the inhabitants of the
city,c)<lLre bereby appropriated to the ditch fund for the paYl}1ent of salaries, wages and other
necessary ,xpenses of operation and maintenance of'the irrigation system, and there is also
hereby apPfcpriated to the ditch fund, from moneys, not otherwise appropriated, the additional
sum of $2,000.00. , " ,

E.- Fire Department.- From moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof, and
other revenues available, there'is hereby approp~iated to the fire department of said city for'
the pusposes of,paying salaries, and other expenses of operation and maintenance, the sum of $3,700.00
F.- Police Department.- From moneys received on account of taxes levied thereof, and
other revenues available, there is hereby appropriated to the police department rum for the pay-
ment of salaries and other necessary expenses the sum of $3,000.00.
G.- Interest and Sinking Fund.- From moneys received on account of taxes levied therefor,
and ather revenues available, there is hereby appropriated for the payment of interest on outwtand-
ing general oblig'\tion bonds of the city and for the sinking fund therefor, the sum of $15,000.00.

H.- All revenuse'of the city of Rexburg received during the fiscal year 1940, not
herebyotMrwise appropriated, are hereby appropriated t.o the general expense fund of the city.

This ordinance shall take effect' and be in force from and after its passage, approval

THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO, AND REPEALING THOSE PARTS OF
SAID SECTIOM.16 WHICH PROHIBIT THE SELLING OF BEER IN SAID
CITY ON SUNDAY, (SAID ORDINANCE NUMBER 841 BEIKG: "AlIti OR-
DINANCE REnULATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF RE-
TAILERS OF BEER IN THE CITY OF REXBURG, IDAHO:" "RmUIR-

TIMES;" AND PROVIDING RIDULATIONS).
BE IT ORDAINED By the Mayor and Council of the City of Rexburg, Idaho:
SECTION:~- That Section 16 of Ordinance Number 341 of the City of
Rexburg, Idaho, be and the same is rereby amerded to read as follows:
lf88CTION 16.- All places where beer is sold at retail shall be closed, each day,
at twelve o'clock midnight ~d kept closed until seven Q(clock in the morning of the day
