HomeMy WebLinkAboutletter for planning and zoningSeptember 7, 2022 To the Rexburg City Council and Mayor: We are Colin and Lori Cardon and we live in the Sunrise Acres development which is right by the proposed development, Hibbard Flats, that is being discussed tonight. We have not met the developers, but our neighbors have. They told us that the lots would be at least half an acre, and that the developers were doing us a favor by changing the residential zoning so that apartments couldn’t be built. At the meeting last week, things were stated differently, it sounds like the developers are looking to divide the parcel into smaller lots. With the amount of growth that has happened in our area, these smaller lots would really affect 12th west and Ferris Lane, as well as Robison. We are not against growth as we realize that it will happened. We are asking that the growth be more controlled…12th west is already very busy, and the plans that are in place may help as long as the lots are not so small. We hope that instead of changing the zoning to LDR1, which will open up all sorts of possibilities of over building to RR2. This seems like it will still allow the developers to make a hefty profit and open up the land to some wonderful new neighbors.
