Recently, the City of Rexburg Building Department has undertaken an effort to go through existing permits that have not been completed. The New Outside Entrance & Duplex project at 117 Madison Ave Units 1 & 2, never received a final inspection. The permit for the project was issued 3/31/2017, and the last inspection was completed on 12/10/2019. We are aware that the door is on backorder, and you are working toward getting it finalized. Please call us as soon as you are ready for an inspection so we can close this permit and avoid any additional fees that may be added. As stated in the 2018 International Residential Code, which has been adopted by the City of Rexburg, “every permit issued shall become invalid…if the work authorized by such permit is suspended or abandoned for a period of 180 days after the time the work is commenced”. In order to avoid any additional fees, please contact our office within 30 days of receiving this letter to renew this permit by leaving a message on the hotline (208.372.2344) to complete the required inspections. Otherwise, the permit will be considered expired, and the City of Rexburg Building Department will deem this space “unfinished”. Please contact the Building Department office if you have any questions. We can be reached at 208.372.2166. Sincerely, The City of Rexburg Building Department 208.372.2166 Brooke Beesley Building Permit Tech Assistant City of Rexburg 208.372.2166
