I grew up at 795 South 5th West. I can remember the road being a narrow dirt
road. I remember the big wheat field to the north of us (which is now Hyde Park). I
remember no neighbors to the west of our house. We loved it just the way it was,
and didn't want to see any changes. Eventually, the road got paved, then widened,
neighbors began popping up, then developments.
It took us as the Lawrence siblings a long time to all come to this decision—almost
a year and a half. We carefully weighed all of the options until ALL remaining five
of us were on the same page; which is in favor of Will Wade's proposal.
In seeing the boundaries of the property up against BYUI's property and other
developments; this new proposal seems like a natural development with the growth
of the town and college.
Of any developers, Will Wade seems to be the most responsible developer we could
go with. He Intends to build on the 2nd lowest zoning; with the idea of townhomes
and more permanent housing to make it a desirable community to live in long
term. He also seems very willing to work with neighbors, put his intentions in
writing and do his part to help widen the road to make it more safe for walkers and
bikers.
Thank you,
Kathryn Lawrence Nielson
