A pre -annexation hearing before the pity Council: with the exception of an airport. a. Owner should submit a letter requesting apre-annexatian hearing before the City Council. The letter must state the properly owners name and address, request far annexation and Viand use intent, and proposed zoning; b. The property a'wner or representative must attend the Council meetiong. 2. Application rust include,- a. A legal description of the property which plainly and clearly defines the boundary of a new district or municipality describes, by metes and bounds, a definite boundary of ars area of land that can be mapped on a tax code area map. The legal description shall include: i. Section, Township, Rangy and Meridian ii. An initial point, being a government surveyed career, such as a section corner, quarter comer, meander comer, or mineral survey corner; iix. A true point of beginning defined by bearings and distances from the initial point, that begins the new or altered district or municipal boundary - iv. Bearings and distances that continuously define an area boundary with a ���osure accuracy of at least 1 part in 5,000. Following the Council hearing, the Council shall concurrently or �amnzediately amend the Comprehensive Plan and Zoning ordinance SIC 67-2525); 9. UPON PASSAGE OF ANNEXATION AND ZONING BY COUNCIL. a. Certified copies of the ordinance shall be fimled with the bounty Assessor, Cotmty Treasurer, a�1�i State TaxCo-n-imission. The CoUntN7 Recorder m�.�st receive the original (certified) for �-ecQrding no later than 1 Q days following the effectitiTe date of annexation (50-2`1) b. Certified copies must include the executed ordinance, a legal description, and a map. c. A. summary of the annexa -tiand zoning ordinan,c� is published in the official newspaper o�the City; d. Three caries of the oxdinance retained on filein City Hall., 10. The City boundary map is changed to reflect the annexation and zoning. 1 1 . A formal Annexathon Agreement Will be developed between the City of Rexburg and the Developer prtor tQ Annexation. 7 Additional Submittal Requirements: The City of Rexburg requires the following information to be submitted io the Planning &Zoning Sy for every application for annexation: 1, Current Vieinity Map. (8 1/2 x at 1 3 00' scale, showing location and current zoning of the property. A map is available the Cityfrom Planning and Zoning Office. Please indicate ti location of your property on the map.. 2. 1111C Land Description. Attach a description of the actual property IF I h YOU wish to have rezoned or must be certified by a land surveyor registered in the annexed on a separatepage.
