My name is Nicole Paulsen and I live at 377 E. 1st N. I’m a neighbor to the parcel on 4th E. that a developer is petitioning again to get re-zoned even though at the public hearing his original request was denied. I was at the public hearing and spoke out against his first re-zoning request and want to let the council know that I’m am also against his recent request to re-zone for townhouses and other I’m assuming rentals. I’ve seen his proposal and all I can say is that it is still people stacked on people and to me is no different than trying to put up a large apartment complex on that lot. For me personally I feel that is way to many people all smashed into a small area. I have heard that a few of the neighbors have signed a petition to say they are ok with moving the zoning up one level for townhomes but I think the majority of us are not. My feelings are that what he proposed isn’t really what he plans to do with the property he’s just trying to get sympathy votes to get what he wants. If that was really his intention in the first place then he would have proposed that zoning option to start with instead of fighting for the larger MRD2 zoning in the beginning. He’s a developer and he will do what’s best for him and his bank account rather than ever giving a thought for our neighborhood. So I ask that you do not allow the re-zoning and only allow him to develop to the stipulations of the current zoning in the area. Thank you for your time and consideration.
