Subject: City Council Rezoning Concerning Trever Einerson Zone Change
Dear Council Members:
I wrote a letter a few weeks ago to the Planning and Zoning Commission concerning the rezoning of the property at 154 N
4th East in Rexburg. I was opposed to the rezoning of this one section of our block from LDR2 to MDR 1 then. The
planning and zoning commission voted unanimously against a zone change on this section of our block and sent the
recommendation to you the City Council Members. Tonight, you are meeting on the recommendation sent you from that
commission. I am writing to ask you to keep our block entirely LDR 2. Changing one section of a block opens up the
possibility of this happening all over town and in other sections of Rexburg. No one is protected by the zoning laws if any
one or two sections of a block can be rezoned when a home or property is sold.
John and I believe it is important to keep LDR 2 neighborhood areas protected. There are people that want to live in
quieter areas and neighborhoods. We don't want to continually fight this battle in our area. We once again respectfully ask
you to follow the recommendation of the Planning and Zoning Commission to keep the zoning as it is designated: LDR 2
Sincerely,
John and Gerry Zirker
