Rexburg, ID 83440 Dear Mayor Merrill and City Council, The residents of the Ricks-Wade subdivision have organized a neighborhood committee to help facilitate the communication of their voices and concerns with respect to the proposed Local Improvement District (LID) 51. As a Committee,we have recently conducted a survey to independently look at three questions: ●Whether or nor property owners are interested in moving forward or delaying the proposed LID? ●Whether or not property owners are interested in keeping the street width as is or narrowing the width? ●Whether or not property owners are interested in square curbs or rolled curbs? This survey effort was not an effort to undermine or subvert the City’s survey but rather is intended as a complement and a venue to provide every property owner a voice. We have strived to accomplish this through a door to door effort. The survey is a hardcopy document with signatures. The committee members collecting the data did not attempt to persuade or influence in any way.We encouraged everyone to fill out the second question (existing width v. narrow)exactly as they did on the City’s survey. Our survey effort has resulted in a 92%response rate as of the morning of this date. Attached is a table of the results for your consideration. Please note that we see that the first question does not have a super majority of 60%of property owners. The committee is committed to continuing to reach out to the remaining property owners to finish out this effort to find out the interest of every property owner if possible. We intend to work with the CIty Clerk to submit the surveys of the property owners who prefer “to delay the LID”,as written protests to the proposed LID regardless of super majority status. We appreciate each of you and your service to our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to have our voices heard.Thank you for your consideration of our findings. Sincerely, Ricks-Wade Subdivision Neighborhood Committee Berkley Starks, Debbie Dickey, Farid Rivera, Joseph Wachtveitl, Matt Lewis, Mike Rowberry, Mona Lords, Rachael Lords, and Rob Tonks Wait Proceed Undecided No Survey 33 19 3 5 55%32%5%8%% of Total Properties Same Narrow Undecided No Survey 47 7 1 5 78%12%2%8%% of Total Properties Square Rolled Undecided No Survey 6 42 7 5 10%70%12%8%% of Total Properties 92%Overall Participation Rate 60 Total Properties Results as of 2 Nov 2021 Q1 Q2 Q3
