We have completed our .review of the plans
Information Center * The major construction portions
plans
.( i o o wallsffloors, roof, t are okay; however, there
are a number of details associated with "handicapped
accessibility" that we need to discuss. As this building X11
be the fOcuS of so many people looking for information about the
Cityl i't Ls particularly important that it also
example ohow to provide the many handicapped
-called for in Section 31 of the Uniform Building
left information number of these atems 'with Bill
earlier but it never appeared on the plans. A lot of the . minute
detail .( such as height to bottom of mi
rrors, height of grab
bars, etc.) doesn't have to be shown on the plans as long as the
workmen doing the installations ll know what these required
dimensions are. If they do not we will have a lot of conflicts
when we make the final inspection and check out all of these
details,
I have attached copies of a number of sheets that relate to
handicapped accessibility that appeared to be relevant 'to this
bul"Ading. I thought you and Bill Bergner and the owner may want
to go over them. I have particuiar concerns
listed items

handicapped accessible,YOu could move the exit at thenorthwest corner of this room to the sOuthwest corner of
the room. It,j, and the exit to the break room would then
be far enough apart that they could be used as the two
required handicapped accessible
,gill , the two
exitsfrom the Reception Area need to be handicapped
accessible. (see page 73 attached.)

Therefore, we n -d to connect up these accessible exits
with a side walk connected to the sidewalk In4th South

plan. This arrangement may r mai- not work depending upon
ground and building elevations and the lengths of ramps up
