ATTIC REQUIREMENTS:
1) Frovide an access to all attic areas with a clear height of 30 inches
r more. The minimum size is 22 inches by 30 inches. There must be 30
inches or more clear height above the access. -- Sec. 1505.1
) Provide ventilation in ali attic areas. The net free vent area a_3
to be not less than I square foot for each 150 square feet of attic
area. The vent area may be 1 if at least the required
ventilating area is provided by ventilators located in the upper
portion of the attic. The upper ventilators must be at least 3 feet
above the eave or cornice vents* -- Sec 1505.3, Exception I
The vent area may be 1/300 provided a vapor retarder having
transmission rate not exceeding I perm is installed, on the warm side
of the attic insulation., -- Sec. 1505.3. Exception 2
