would study the codes concerning the addition �f a new stage �:v the skating zain%. The 1994 UBC
Chapter 34 - EXISTING STRUCTURES instructs that additions or change in use require that the
building comply with the requirements of the code. The following list identifies some of the
items that are not up to compliance.
I. Building should be constructed to I -hr. fire rating -
2. Three exits required with rn�rLr,�um combined width of 11 .71.
3. Exit signs requi-red at all eats.
4. Two exits must be accessible.
5. Automatic sprinUer system required if openings �n each SQ fejt of exterior wall are
.not provided.
6. Afire alarm system is required.
7. Ventilation shall be provided as per 1.994 UBC Section 1202.2. 1.
8. Occupancy capacity mint be posted.
9., Toilet facilities mush be accessible as per CABO/AN S1 A 1 .
1 0. Drin-kizAg fountains must be accessible as per CAB 0/ANS1 A 117. 1.
11. Parking must be accessible as per CABO/ANSI A 1

BUILDING INSPECTION SEQUENCE
Type of Inspections: For on-site construction, from time to time the building official, open notification
from the permit holder or his agent, shall make or cause to be made any necessary inspections and shah either
approve that pordon of the construction as competed or shatI notify the permit holder or his agent wherein the
same fails to comply with this code,
1'0 LAYOUT: Lot garners naked, staking in place for building, prior to excavation:
2. FOOTING: Commonly made after pokes or piers are set or trenches or basement areas are
excavated. Firms and horizontal reinforcing in place, vertical reinforcing cut and on job
site or tied in place.
3. FOUNDATION INSPECTION:
The foundation inspection shall included excavations for thickened slabs intended for the
support of beadng walls, partitions, structural supports, or equipment and special
requirements for woad foundations. All forms and reinforcing steel, etc., shall be in
place,.
4. PLUMBING, MECHANICAL AND ELECTRICAL,
Rough inspection: Commonly made prior to covering or concealment, before fixtures
are set, and prior to framing inspection.
5'0 TRUSS INSPECTION:
Inspections of trusses to see they meet shop drawing requirements and that they are
installed and braced adequately.
6. FRAME AND MASONRY INSPECTION.
Commonly made after the roof, masonry, all framing, firestopping, draftstopping and
bracing are in place and after the plumbing, mechanical and elecu-icaI rough inspections
are approved.
7. LATH AND/OR WALLBOARD INSPECTION:
Commonly made after all lathing and/or wallboard interior is in place, but before any
plaster is applied, or before wallboard joints and fasteners are taped and finished.
8. FINAL PLUMBING ATPD HEATING INSPECTION:
All systems in piece, fixtures -es set, ready for occupancy
9. FINAL ELECTRICAL-.
Fixtures and wail ewers In place.. Directory completed in panel box.
10. SINSPECTS.
Ater forms are set, prior to placing concrete. -

Commonly made after the building is completed and ready for occupancy .
12. OCCUPANCY PERMIT:
Issued when, on final inspection, building is ready to occupy.
13. 0 T HER INSPECTIONS:
In addition to the called inspections above, the building department may make or
. .require any other inspections to ascertain compliancewith this cods and ether laws
enforced by the building department.
INSPECTION CARD
The permit holder or his agent shah post the inspection record on the job site in an accessible and conspicuous
place to allow the building official to make the required entries. The record shaiI be maintained bY the Pe it
holder until the final inspection has been made and approved.

inspections to be made.
