FOR
ANNEXATION AND ZONE CHANGE FOR PLATINUM DEVELOPMENT
1. On August 16, 2001, Platinum Development presented to the Rexburg City Clerk a Request and
Application for Annexation and Zone Change on property located on 7'e North or 1000 North in
the City of Rexburg, for the purpose of creating a subdivision.
2. On August 22, 2001, Brett Hastings, on behalf of Platinum Development appeared before the
Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Rexburg requesting annexation of the entire
parcel of said property with the property north of the river to be zoned Low Density Residential
(LDRI) and the property south of the river to remain zoned Agriculture (A). It was recommended
by Planning & Zoning that this request go to public hearing.
On September 7, 2001, the City Clerk sent the Notice of Public Hearing for publication in the
local newspaper on September 10 and 19, 2001. After publication but before posting or mailing
notices the public hearing was cancelled due to lack of proper property description.
4. On October 17, 2001, the City Clerk sent the Notice of Public Hearing before the Planning &
Zoning Commission on November 14, 2001, to the local newspaper for publication on October
29 and November 7, 2001, posted a notice on the property sent notices to all property owners
within 300 feet of the above mentioned property.
5. On November 14, 2001, Brett Hastings on behalf of Platinum Development appeared before the
Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Rexburg requesting annexation of property
located on 7' North or 1000 North with all property located north of the river be zoned Low
Density Residential 1 (LDR1) and the property south of the river remain zoned Agricultural (A).
There was no public comment concerning annexation of the zone change. It was recommended
by Planning & Zoning that this request for annexation and zone change be approved for public
hearing before the City Council.
6. On November 15, 2001, the City Clerk sent the Notice of Public Hearing before the City Council
on December 19, 2001, to the local newspaper for publication on November 30 and December
12, 2001, posted a notice on the property and sent notices to all property owners within 300 feet of
the above mentioned property.
7. On December 19, 2001, Jerry Hastings on behalf of Platinum Development appeared before the
City Council for the City of Rexburg requesting annexation of property located at 540 E. 7'
North. The request was also for all property north of the river to be zoned Low Density
Residential 1(:LDRI) and all property south of the river to remain zoned Agricultural (A). There
was no public comment on this request. It was moved that the Council take the recommendation
of Planning & Zoning and approve the requested annexation and zone change as presented.
