Subject: re-zoning proposal of 25 acres on 12th west
My name is Michael Evans. My wife Charlene and i live just west of the area being discussed this evening, on
440 west.
We know development will come to this area and are not opposed to that at all. But we believe that there should
be areas that keep Rexburg with a diversity of living styles and options. We would hope that the council would
take into consideration both those yet to come to Rexburg as well as those who already live here. There are
people who have dreams of buying a home or finding a place to live and want to come to Rexburg --they
should have that opportunity. But there are others who have dreamed of a home and have sacrificed
significantly to find that dream in the area being discussed tonight. Please recognize the dreams of both - and
make a plan to allow High density housing to be built in areas where it will not affect the living styles of those
currently living here and wanting to keep the dream they have for raising a family in a more rural setting.
I believe both dreams can be achieved and the city of Rexburg can continue to grow. But it shouldn't be at the
expense of one family or one developer.. Money will be made in the development of this land -- lots of money.
Let it be developed - but we ask that you keep the zoning at the current status as RR2. This will allow money to
be made, the city or Rexburg to grow and both those currently living here and those yet to come find and keep
their dreams.
