De sc ri ptio n ' We received word on the afternoon of March 9, 2003 that the City of Rexburg has again placed requirements on the project after work was in place. The 18 inch culvert at the NW corner of the site needs to be placed deew% per. The invert at the east end of the culvert needs to be at approximately the grade of the existing ditch at the east end of the culvert. This may have to be adjusted down to get below the new sewer line. The culvert should be graded ata .5'/o slope and the west end should be " raked" for about 8 ft. to allow the water to flow out of the west end. The costs for the removal and reinstallation of the should be included in the costs. for Proposal Request #5. With the culvert a4 a lower depth, thereis no need for the concrete protection cover that was discussed in the Const. Mfg. an April 9th. Descri"ption.: As documentation of the conversations that have taken place on site, the following is submitted.. 1. Framer proposed to use 1 3/4" x 11 7/0" LVL headers a4 townhouse stair in lieu of the B5's shown. This change is approved. 2. Transverse header nearest the townhouse entrance door shall extend to nearest continuous floor joist. At the floor joist, the header shall be supported with a HU1 1 min. joist hanger or better. Floor joist shall be reinforced with full thick sheer blocking per joist manufacturer's recommendations. floor joist shall be a J1 or J3 in lieu of adjacent J2's and may be procured by swapping a J2 with a J 1 at the head of the stair. 3. Transverse header a4 top of stair shall bear on the wall below. Header or beam from kitchen wall shall bear on wall below. 4. Longitudinal headers shown without size identifier may be J2 joists at top of wall or AVL at contractors' option. 5. In order for stairway wall to support the two transverse headers, the header over the pzntry closet doors reeds to be a minimum of (2) 2 x 6's. Prior to proceeding in accordance with these instructions, indicate your acceptance of these instructions dor minor change to the Work as consistent with the Contract Documents and return a copy to the Architect. Description: 1'. The attached drawing provides elevations for the brick ledg'es at the brick posts and wrought iron fence along the north side of the site. Drawing ASI -1 7- 1' incorporates dwg. AS! -1 6-1 and corrects the elevation at the far eastern brick posh. The fence follows a straight slope along the north side of the site and is at a higher elevation than shown on the construction documents. This reduces the amount of excavatio, etc. at the fence location. The fence has also been shortened by two posts and,two wrought iron panels. This is also a credit item to the project. 2. The concrete mow stip between the brick posts will be set with the top at 6" below the brick ledge on the posts. 3. The sidewalk elevation will follow and be adjacent to the mow stip. (6" below the brick ledge at the posts) 4. The concrete foundations for the posts may rest on the existing Iowa rock. The lava rock must be sound and solid, if the kava rock Js move the top of the post fooling, the concrete pier can utilize the lana pock in lieu of a footing. The vertical bars would then be drilled and epoxied into the lava rick. The surface of the rock must be cleaned prior to placing. the concrete just as where the building foundations rested directly on the rock.
