The City of Rexburg has just approved a new plat for a subdivision north of town where the old
Drive Inn Theater used to be. Attached is a copy of the approved plat. Note that we required
a 90 ft. wide right-of-way dedication for S.H. 33. Itis our thinking that the long range street
typical section for this section of highway would be that shown on the attached Typical
Section # 10. Do you agree with this proposed typical section? The interior streets will all
have curb and gutter, sidewalk, street paving, water, sewer, etc. As the lots are all "backed -up"
to S.H. 33 with no private driveways onto the highway, we do not require the developer to install
curb and gutter, sidewalk, street paving, etc. along the highway frontage. They will however
have to install asphalt pavement to connect the two streets to the existing pavement on S.H. 33.
We expect that the unpaved portions of the highway right-of-way will be landscaped in some
manner by the subdivision developer until such time as the street is further widened and
improved.
There will also be an 8" waterline and an 8" sanitary sewer that will be crossing the highway
somewhat as shown on the plat. We will, of course, direct the contractor to Ray Wolfe for a
permit for these approaches and utility crossings; or would you prefer that the City of Rexburg
take out the permit for the two street approaches and the utility crossings?
Sincerel ,.
