After discussion it was recommended by motion that this annexation and zone change be
tabled until the February 7 City Council meeting.
9. On February 7, 2001, before the Rexburg City Council a motion was made to retrieve the
Hawkins Companies item from the table. There was discussion among the Council
concerning the number of acres being zoned HDR and the use of the zoning. Doug
Matthews representing Hawkins Companies agreed the company would be willing to
condition the property to not allow for single student housing in the HDR zoning. One
resident appeared in opposition to the location of the HDR portion of this project. After
discussion among the Council concerning these matters, a motion was made
recommending that this annexation and zone change be approved as requested following
the recommendation of Planning and Zoning as being in the community's best interest.
