HomeMy WebLinkAboutFOF - Erickson Pontiac - 1556 W Main - Annexation & Rezone as HBDFINDINGS OF FACT FOR ANNEXATION AND ZONE CHANGE FOR ERIC ERICKSON On December 12, 2000, Eric and Neil Erickson presented to the Rexburg City Clerk a Request and Application for Annexation and Zone Change for property located at 1556 W. Main in the City of Rexburg. Said property to be changed from Rural Residential to Highway Business District. 2. On December 21, 2000, Eric Erickson appeared before the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Rexburg requesting annexation and zone change of said property from Rural Residential to Highway Business District for the purpose of moving the business of Erickson Pontiac to this location. It was recommended that this request should go to public hearing. 3. The City Clerk caused the Notice of Public Hearing to be published in the local newspaper on January 8 and 15, 2001, posted a notice on the property and sent notices to all property owners within 300 feet of the above mentioned property. 4. On January 24, 2001, Eric Erickson appeared before the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Rexburg requesting annexation and zone change to Highway Business District on the property located at 1556 W. Main. There was no additional public comment. It was recommended by Planning & Zoning that this request be approved for public hearing before the City Council. 5. The City Clerk caused the Notice of Public Hearing to be published in the local newspaper on January 31 and February 14, 2001, posted a notice on the property and sent notices to all property owners within 300 feet of the above mentioned property. 6. On February 21, 2001, Eric Erickson appeared before the City Council of the City of Rexburg requesting annexation and zone change to Highway Business District on property located. at the 1556 E. Main. There was no additional public comment. It was moved that the Council take the recommendation of Planning & Zoning and approve the requested annexation and zone change to Highway Business District. It was determined this was a choice location for Erickson Pontiac to move, an excellent business connection from Highway 20 to the downtown area and in the best interest of the community.
