Gold Inc. - 2000 N between Hwy33 & Salem Hwy - Rezone from Ag to IndustrialFINDINGS OF FACT FOR ZONE CHANGE FOR KEN BROWN POTATO WAREHOUSE On December 30, 1999, Ken Brown presented to the City Clerk an application for zone change on property in the Rexburg Impact Zone north of Rexburg between Highway 33 and the Salem Highway described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Section 8, Twp. 6 N., R. 40 E., Boise Meridian, Madison County, Idaho. The zone change would be from agricultural to light industrial. 2. The City Clerk published the Notice of Public hearing in the local newspaper on February 7 and February 14, 2000, posted a notice on the property and sent notices to all property owners within 300 feet of the above mentioned property. 3. On February 23, 2000, a Public Hearing was held before the Planning & Zoning Commission regarding the proposed zone change to accommodate the operation of a potato warehouse located on the above mentioned property. 4. Only one neighbor appeared at the hearing, that being Dan Allred representing Eastern Idaho PCA located at 2272 N. Salem Rd. This was not an objection but a concern about the possibility of a settling pond or something of that nature south of their building that would impact their business. After hearing the testimony and reviewing the plans the Commission voted that beginning at the Salem Road and running East 660 feet be left zoned Agricultural and the balance of the described property be zoned to light Industrial and that the matter go before the City Council. On March 1, 2000, a Public Hearing was held before the City Council regarding the proposed zone change. Garry Jeppesen appeared before the Council requesting that this matter be tabled for review of a supposed agreement between the City of Rexburg and the City of Sugar City allowing Sugar City input on any changes made to the property. 7. After extensive discussion the Council voted to approve the proposed zone change as recommended by the Planning & Zoning Commission, that being beginning at the Salem Road and running East 660 feet be left zoned Agricultural and the balance of the described property be zoned light Industrial.
