HomeMy WebLinkAboutWRITTEN RESPONSE - Wadholm, Rick - 347 S 4th W - Rezone from HBD to HDRResponse to public hearing To whom it may concern: I Vicki Wickham, who lives at 355 Bare Street, would like to state my opinion about the construction in my neighborhood. The said property is located at 347 so. 4`h West, in Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho, and more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Northwest corner of Lot 3, Block 1, Klingler Addition to the City of Rexburg and running thence South 100 feet; thence East 330 feet; thence North 100 feet: thence West 330 to the point of the beginning. I feel that the apartment complex being proposed will interfere with the privacy of not only my family but the surrounding families of our neighborhood. I do understand what it will do for the value of my home and others but this only affects the future. Let's talk about the present. I am a single parent with not only financial concerns but concerns for the safety of my family. I realize that this is going to be married college housing, but this does not prevent the opportunities for burglary or other unforeseen problems. Is there any security in the works? What is the building structure like? How high will this structure be? What will the expected occupancy be? What about landscaping? Will there be a privacy fence? (101 cinderblock) Will there be an increase in my property taxes if so how much? I am not opposed to progress and I realize we need the housing for the college, but in the same sense we need to take into consideration the effects this is having on our own local people. Are these changes going to make it financially impossible for families of low income to maintain or even purchase homes of good location to provide for our families? I personally chose the location of my home for convenience and in case of emergencies I am still able to help my children even if my transportation is unavailable do to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control. Would it be possible to receive a proposed drawing of said structure in language that I can understand? This would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Vicki Wickham 04/20/02 Petition by Homeowners Opposing Zone Change from High Business District to High Density Residential. We the undersigned are opposed to a proposal by the Rexburg Planning and Zoning Commission to create a zone change from Highway business district to a High Density Residential. We ask that the planning and zoning to reconsider this approved proposal. Printed Name and Signature 4. 5. 21 7. WestGate, LLC) around 347 South Fourth West. We oppose this zone change because our neighborhood is primarily made up of single-family homes. The influx of traffic and noise would be detrimental to the present neighborhood. We have several families who have children. Their safety and protection is of grave concern. We purchased our homes in this area seeking a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. We continue to oppose the High Density Residential Zone for the above-mentioned reasons. We ask the Planning and Zoning Board to rescind their approval of this zone change. We would like to note that a similar proposal was turned down by the City Council. We would also like to mention that we would not be opposed to the said property/properties being changed to a Medium Density Zone. We feel the area could facilitate an increase of that size. Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
