This letter is to Onfoi-n-1 you that G&S Structural Engineers performed an evaluation of the
exterior perimeter walls located at the family room and the adjacent dining room and bedroorn of
the above referenced residence.
The wars have been evaluated based upon the 20(33 International Building bode (IBC) with a
90 -MPH wind speed, exposure C. and seismic design category D, using 35 psf ground snow load
and 15 psf roof dead load. Reasonable professional effort has been made to comply with other
codes and regulations in effect at the time of the review,
The following items are identified as a result of the wall evaluation:
I . The wall is to be constructed of 2x6 wall studs spaced at 24 inch centers. The studs
are to be Doug-Fidr-Larch.) construction Grade or better,
2. The walk shad be sheathed in accordance with the attached wall schedule.
3. Two Simpson HDQS-SDS3 hold downs shad be added as shown on the attached red
line plan.
4. Window openings shall be reinforced with a minimum of 3 studs on each side.
5. Girder Trusses GR02 and GR03. shown in the BMC truss layout package, shall be
connected to the wallswith Simpson DSC drag strut connectors.
6. Girder Trusses GR02 and GR03 shall be design to resist a 4360 pounds of lateral
force.
7. Roof sheathing shall be attached to Girder Trusses GR02 and GR03 with 8d nails
spayed at 4 inch centers.
At this time, G&S will not be performing any construction observation. Included with this letter
are a redline markup of the main floor plan, a girder truss detail markup and a wall schedule.
This letter and the evaluation apply only to the -walls mentioned above and do not cover any other
framing or structural components of the house, nor mechanical, electrical or architectural

coi�struc�ion, G&S Structural Engineers is limiting our liability to $3 000.00
