3. The drawings indicate that existing mechanical systems and components, such as the
mechanical unit shown on Sheet ME6.2, will be reused and upgraded. Final approval that
the equipment and components are in proper operating condition in accordance with the
original design and in safe and sanitary condition shall be subject to the code official.

5. The amount of outdoor air provided by the existing air handling unit has not been indicated.
To verify that a sufficient amount of outdoor air is being provided, provide a ventilation
schedule indicating the outdoor airventilation rates. Additionally, dual duct variable volume
air boxes are specified to be regulating the amount of outdoor air supplied to the rooms
and spaces. Since the mount of outdoor air appears to be regulated with maximum and
minimum air flow rakes, provide verification that the minimum amount of outdoor air will be
provided to the rooms and spaces when they are occupied. For example, Foods.
Laboratory #333 must be provided with 4.20 cpm of outdoor air when based on the autdar
air ventilation rate for a kitchen area (1 ,4Q0 sq. f#. x 20 occupants/1,000 sq. Vit. x 15
cfmloccupant). Included with the ventilation schedule should be documentation which
indicates which outdoor air rates from Table 403.3 af the Mechanical Code are applicable
(i.e., the occupancy classification from Table 403.3 that most Closely resembles the use
of the space) and the occupant load or floor area used to determine the amount of outdoor
air supplied to each space. Provide an air Balance schedule. (105, 106.3.17 4 402,

3. The drawings indicate that existing mechanical systems and components, such as the
mechanical unit shown on Sheep ME6.2, will be reined and upgraded.

Additionally, dual duct variable volume
air boxes are specified to be regulating the amount of outdoor air supplied to the rooms
and spaces. Since the amount of outdoor air appears to be regulated with maximum and
minimum air flow rates, provide verification that the minimum amount of outdoor air will be
provided to the rooms and spaces when they are occupied. dor example, foods
Laboratory #333 must be provided with 420 cfm of outdoor air when based on the outdoor
air ventilation rats for a kitchen area (1,40Q sq. ft. x 20 occupants/1 ,0a0 sq. ft. x 15'
cfm/occupant). Included with the ventilation schedule should be documentation which
indicates which outdoor air rakes from Table 403.3 of the Mechanical Code are applicable
(i.e., the occupancy classification from Table 403.3 that most closely resembles the use
of the space} and the occupant load or floor area used to determine the amount of outdoor
air supplied to each spaces. Provide an air balance schedule. (105, 106.3.1, 401.2, 402,
