On May 16"' 2002, Donna Benfield, representing the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce, presented to the Rexburg City Clerk a Request and Application for a Variance for a sign at 420 West 4' South in the City of Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho. 2. On May 22nd, 2002, Donna Benfield, Executive Director of the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Rexburg requesting a Variance for a sign at 420 West 4" South in the City of Rexburg. It was recommended that this request should go to public hearing. 3. On June 6"', 2002, the City Clerk sent the Notice of Public Hearing to be published in the local newspaper on June 7'" and June 19'h, 2002. A notice was posted on the property and sent to all property owners within 300 feet of the above mentioned property. 4. On 2002, June 26'", 2002, Donna Benfield, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, appeared before the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Rexburg requesting a Variance for a sign on property located at 420 West 4'h South. There were some public comments and after discussion it was recommend by the Planning & Zoning Commission to grant a sign variance with conditions to the Chamber of Commerce. The sign variance would be granted to the Chamber instead of the property. The conditions are as follows: a) The sign be 4 foot high and 6 foot wide b) The location of the new sign will be near the present ground sign c) The sign will be located out of the road right-of-way d) The Chamber of Commerce will come before the Commission in three (3) years to review the variance e) The maximum height for the sign will be 12 feet � - Stephen Eollinger, City Atto49
