Since the front portion is bein� leased b Custom Auta (BVI occupancy} and our Proposed op�ratiflns would fall, under the S-1 occupancy, the separation between the Y tenants is required to have a fire resistance rating of 3 hours,.' The purpose of this letter is to provide the technical justification fo.r the attached design to upgrade the existing separation wall. The -building codes contain provisions by which the fire resistance of specific materials or combinations afmaterials is estat�lished by calculatian.2�'�4. Such provisions were included for "instances when materiats and assemblies in a building undergoing rehabiIi�ation cannot be found in the Appendix Tables". � The existing separation walI in the subject building is just such an instance.
