Page 4 Energy conservation Compliance Review The type and thickness of the rigid foundation insulation is called out in Division 7 of the specifications. It is to be Dow "Blue -Board", two inch thickness. Building code fire compliance review. The construction of the east and west walls will be modified to be in accordance with GA File No. WP 8131 for a one hour rating. The doors will be one -hour fire rated with closures. In accordance with section 704.5, "The fire resistance of exterior walls with a fire separation distance of greater than 5 feet shall be rated for exposure to fire from the inside". Refer to Sheet SD 1.1 where the distance to the property line is called out as 7% 2" from the east and west walls. However, we will provide protection from both sides per WP 8131 as noted above. The Roof Ceiling assembly will comply with GA File No. RC 2606 with no openings in the roof within 5 feet of the outside wall. The contractor will be directed accordingly. A-2 occupancy is acknowledged. Mechanical Review Commercial Kitchen hood details have been provided by the General Contractor. Structural Review As we have reviewed Section 1607.1 we are referred to Table 1607.1. All of the loading information in this table refers to floor loading except that item 29 calls out roofs. That table entry refers to Section 1607.11. Section 1607.11 addresses special roof structures that provide for promenade, roof gardens and assembly areas on the roof. In as much as our roof is not accessible except for maintenance we believe that only the normal live and dead loads indigenous to our area would apply. In all of the buildings that we have done with assembly occupancies there has not been a requirement to exceed normal live and dead loading values. Please let us know if we are misunderstanding the comment. Special inspections are typically not required by the code when design values remain below a certain level. This building is in compliance with those levels. However, in the event that special inspections will be required we have requested a letter from Materials Testing and Inspection in Idaho Falls. They will be the special inspector. They will send a letter directly to the city. Compaction tests will be taken on the fill materials. Page 5 Electrical service review Approval noted Electrical circuits review Approval noted Accessibility Review Approval noted Building Type Compliance Agreed Plumbing review comments: Testing requirements are acknowledged. A grease interceptor will be added. Direction will be given to the contractor. Site plan review comment The grate elevation for Storm Drain Inlet Structure #4 which is closest to the building has a grate elevation of 62.5. In accordance with the elevations shown on Sheet C1.0 the floor elevation (same elevation as the top of foundation) is 63.5. We believe this satisfies the 12" requirements shown in Section 1805.3.4. The Top back of curb elevation closest to the building is 62.98 thus providing a flow line elevation in the curb of 62.48. Again, this is more than 12" below the top of foundation. If we are mis-interpreting this section or misunderstanding the comment we will be available to discuss this item further. Exiting review Panic devices are already specified in Section 087100 for the doors for the A-2 occupancy and occupancy load signs will be posted. An entrance vestibule will be provided per the attached sketch. Directive will be given to the contractor accordingly.
