Please accept this letter as a confirmation of our discussion regarding platform construction.
This was discussed on a phone call April 06,2009. The platforms in the Manwaring building
are to be constructed of fire retardant woad as per IBC 2003 410.4. The requirements of that
section are met in the following way: The enclosed space is used for wiring only, no storage
is provided or allowed. The platforms are less than 1/3 of the room. The aggregate area of
the platforms is less than 3000 s.f. You confirmed that the interpretation is correct.

This Addendum is for all persons preparing Bids for the above named project; and, as such, shall be made a part
of the Documents. Changes, corrections, and deletions enumerated herein shall be included in the Contractor's
Bid. Bidders should acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Contractor's Bid Form.
Failure to do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification. In case of any conflict between the drawings,
specifications, and this addendum, this addendum shall govern.

STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS
SE-002 STRUCTURAL SCHEDULES
1. Footing Schedule.
a. Revise the S-3 strut to be 48" wide and 16" thick, reinforcing remains as called
out, and shall be continuous with the concrete beam over the tunnel.
b. Add an F5R6 footing, 5'-0" X 6'-0" X 31" thick. Reinforce with 11 - #6 each
way, top and bottom.
SE-100 FOOTING AND FOUNDATION PLAN
1. Where sound bedrock is deeper than required for the footing to be at an
elevation 8" below the finished floor, thicken the footing or add piers as required
4" larger than the base plate and as follows (provide piers when footing is more
than 2 feet below the top of the floor slab):
a. Up to 18 inches square, reinforce with 4 - #8 vertical and #3 ties at 6 inches on
center. Add 3 ties at top of pier at 2" on center.
b. Up to 20 inches square, reinforce with 4 - #9 vertical and #4 ties at 6 inches on
center. Add 3 ties at top of pier at 2" on center.
c. Up to 25 inches square, reinforce with 8 - #8 vertical and 2 - #3 ties at 6 inches
on center. Add 3 sets ties at top of pier at 2" on center.

d. Up to 18 inches X 26 inches, reinforce with 6 - #8 vertical and 2 - 93 ties at 6
inches on center. Add 3 sets ties at top of pier at 2" on center.
2. The north wall of the elevator shaft needs to shift to match the architect's
drawings.
3. Detail D4/SE502 at grid G-50 shall be revised to be D4/SE512.
4. Detail C2/SE501 at grid B between grids 34 and 36, shall be used to indicate
that the slab extends across the wall.
5. The 8" wall at grid 16 shall be shifted to be on grid 15.
6. The wall near grid H from 16 to beyond 20 shall be shifted to be centered 3-
1/2 inches north of grid H.
7. The detail at grid 48 between C and D, shall be revised from B1/SE501 to
E5/SE501
8. At the footings for the concrete walls along grids 41 and 47, the footings may,
at the contractor's option, be continuous at doorways. Add 3 - #6 bars top and
bottom of the footing, extend top bars 24 inches past edge and bottom bars 48
inches past edge of opening.
9. At grid B-43 and D-43, the detail cut shown as C4/SE502 shall be SSD-03
included in this addendum.
10. The columns at X-braces shall be revised to be as per the X-brace elevations
at on sheet SE-401.
11. The base plates at grids H-28 and H-30 shall be revised to be BP-15 in lieu of
BP-13 called out.
12. The connection detail called out as C1/SE502 at grid B-38 shall be detail SSD-
06 included in this addendum. The connection detail called out as C2/SE502 opp.
at grid B-40 shall be detail SSD-06 opposite, included in this addendum
SE-101 FRAMING PLAN LEVEL ONE
1. Detail D1/5E-511 cut on the north wall shall be revised to be D1/SE-501.
2. Add 3 - #6 bars in the bottom of the slab over the tunnel at each jog in the
tunnel and below masonry or concrete walls at grids 46-D, 47-D, D between 42
and 43, and between 42 and 43 at B.7.
3. The columns at X-braces shall be revised to be as per the X-brace elevations at
on sheet 5E-401.
SE-102 FRAMING PLAN LEVEL TWO
1. The two detail cuts at grids 38 and G shall be revised from E4/5E-511 and
E5/SE-511 to be SSD-01 and SSD-02 respectively as included in this addendum.
2. The concrete stairs between grids 16 and 20 at grids G to H shall be revised to
be metal pan stairs as per the architectural drawings. The concrete beam at the
top shall be revised to be a W18X40 with 20 welded anchor studs spaced evenly.
3. The wall near grid H from 16 to beyond 20 shall be shifted to be centered 3-
1/2 inches north of grid H.

4. The columns at X-braces shall be revised to be as per the X-brace elevations at
on sheet SE-401.
5. The columns at brace 15 at grid 48 shall be spaced at 14 feet on center.
6. The connection at the bottom of brace 15 at grid 48 shall be as per detail SSD-
05 included in this addendum and not BP-6 base plates as shown.
7. The top of pier elevations at the piers below the loading dock slab shall be the
bottom of the 12 inch slab.
SE-103 FRAMING PLAN LEVEL THREE
1. The columns at X-braces shall be revised to be as per the X-brace elevations at
on sheet SE-401.
2. The connection at grid 48-D shall be as per detail SSD-04 included in this
addendum.
SE-104 FRAMING PLAN ROOF LEVEL
1. The columns at X-braces shall be revised to be as per the X-brace elevations at
on sheet SE-401.
SE-502 FOOTING AND FOUNDATION DETAILS
1. Add SSD-03 as detail C4/SE502
2. Detail D2/SE502 and D3/SE502, the distance from the edge of the base plate to
the face of the column on the side of the column away from the X brace shall be 4
inches.
SE-511 FLOOR FRAMING DETAILS
1. Add SSD-01 and SSD-02 as Details E4/SE511 and E5/SE511.
2. Detail D1/SE511, delete the note to remove the back-up bar, back gouge and
weld, typ.
SE-512 FLOOR FRAMING DETAILS
1. Details C1/SE512, C4/SE512 and C5/SE512 show double clip angles welded to
the beams, the weld shall be 5/16 inch fillet weld all around. The double angle
connection may be revised to be a 1/2 inch shear plate full depth of the support
beam with the maximum number of 7/8" A325 bolts, at the contractor's option.
See detail D2/SE511 for an example of the connection. Provide fillet welds all
around, 1/4 inch minimum or the AISC minimum, whichever is larger.
