On June 14, 2006, Alicia Thornburg presented to the Rexburg Planning & Zoning Coordinator a Request and Application for a Conditional Use Permit for dormitory housing located at 276 and 264 Steiner Avenue. 2. On July 28, 2006, the City Clerk sent the Notice of Public Hearing to be published in the local newspaper for August 1, 2006 and August 12, 2006. A notice was posted on the property and sent to all property owners within 300 feet of the above mentioned property. 3. On August 17, 2006, Alicia Thornburg presented to the Planning & Zoning Commission for the City of Rexburg his Request for a Conditional Use Permit for dormitory housing at 276 and 264 Steiner Avenue. David Stein motioned to deny the Conditional Use Permit at 264 and 276 Steiner Avenue because the introduction of dormitory housing further into this neighborhood is not harmonious with the existing character of the neighborhood. The street construction is substandard, potentially introducing a safety hazard as density of the street increases. Mary Haley seconded the motion. None opposed. Motion carried.
