HomeMy WebLinkAboutNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - 07-00020 - Kauer, Erickson, Schneider, Klingler - Annexation & Rezonearc l NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Public Hearing will be held before the Planning & Zoning Commission of the City of Rexburg, Idaho, Thursday, March 01st, 2007, at 7:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers of the City Building at 12 North Center, Rexburg, Idaho, regarding annexation of approximately 228 acres of land west of 12th West and southwest the John Deere complex. Water and sewer services will need to be extended to the annexation parcels. Future road development will be as per the City transportation plan as coordinated with Madison County. The property is located west of 121h West and southwest the John Deere complex on 121h West in the Rexburg City Area of Impact, Madison County, Idaho and Madison County, Idaho. The properties are described as follows on the Annexation Map dated February 14, 2007: Tract l: The Southeast quarter of section 36, Township 6 North, Range 39 East of the Boise Meridian. Tract 2: The Northeast quarter of the Northeast quarter of section 2, Township 5 North, Range 39 East of the Boise Meridian. Tract 3: Beginning at the Northwest quarter corner of Section 1, 5 N, R 39E B.M. in Madison County Idaho and running thence South along the section line 1320 feet; thence East 261.5 feet, thence North 715.5 feet; thence East 1523 feet; thence North 610 feet; thence S89049'24" West 1784.5 feet to the point of beginning. The proposed zone change for Tract 1, Tract 2, and Tract 3 is from Transitional Ag I and Transitional Ag 2 to Low Density Residential Two (2). At such hearing the Planning & Zoning Commission will hear all persons and all objections and recommendations relative to such proposed approval. The City Clerk will also accept written comments at City Hall prior to 4:00 p.m. on February 28, 2007. This notice is given pursuant to the provisions of Section 67-6509, 67-6511 and 50-222 (Section 3, category A) of Idaho Code and all amendments thereof. his 12th day of February, 2007. McFadden Madison County P&Z Administrator PO Box 389 Rexburg, Idaho 83440 I am writing this at the request of the Board of County Commissioners to express their concern with the proposed annexation of the Keith and Guy Erickson property. In a time when Madison County, Rexburg and Sugar City are opening discussions and improving working relationships, we feel it would have been and still would be appropriate to have a discussion about this proposed annexation with the County Commissioners and the Madison County Planning and Zoning Commission before taking this to hearing. If this course of action by the City of Rexburg is to continue then is there any need for having an impact area for the cities?
