HomeMy WebLinkAboutKevin Shiley - LID 50 Item 16, 511 Park St Deborah Lovejoy From:Shiley, Kevin <shileyk@byui.edu> Sent:Tuesday, January 5, 2021 2:20 PM To:Deborah Lovejoy Subject:RE: LID #50 Dear Mayor, City Council Members, Engineering and Finance Departments: I appreciate the efforts you have put forth to try to reduce the cost of the Park Street LID this past year. I am sure it took many extra hours. Thank you for listening and responding. I know many of my fellow residents are probably still very concerned about the costs, but I am grateful that the estimated assessments are lower than the original amounts from last year. I am a little confused because two maps went out with the LID announcement. One map showed the narrower street with the green strip between the curb and sidewalk; the other showed the current layout - with the areas we would be responsible for marked on it. Based on the estimated cost I am assuming the city plans to go with the narrower street and the green strip, but I hope that will be made l clear at the public hearing tomorrow. I will try to participate via zoom, but at present do not plan on making any comments unless called upon. Carrie and I support the narrower street plan assuming there will be no parking in front of our house. Its currently a safety concern having kids crossing the street so near the intersection - coming out from between parked cars. A narrower street would compound the safety issue unless there is no parking in front of our house. I also would support putting an entryway to the park on 5th West to encourage some parking there. Thanks for your service, Kevin P Shiley 1
