City Council Members,
Ezra Taft Benson, a prophet of God, and also a man very familiar with government and the evil of the world once said, "I'd rather be dead than lose my liberty. I have no fear we'll
ever lose it because of invasion from the outside, but I do have fear that it may slip away from us because of our own indifference, our own negligence as citizens of this land. And
so I plead with you this morning, that you take an active interest in matters pertaining to the future of this country."
As elected REPRESENTATIVES of the people of Rexburg, it is your duty to do what is right for the majority of the people. Making a decision in secret, that affects everyone in this city,
without giving us the opportunity to be there and be heard is morally wrong and you should be ashamed of yourselves! I guarantee you that if you were to ask every person in this community
what they think about this proposed, communistic mandate you are attempting to inflict on us, the majority of the people would be adamantly and strongly opposed to it. If you get on
social media, you can see that the people are extremely unhappy with you and this proposed plan.
This is TYRANNY! You are imposing socialism on us and it is unwelcome! Taking away someone's right to choose what is best for them, their family, their health, and their mental health
is immoral and unconstitutional! You may think you are being noble or trying to help, but you are wrong. I have heard the mayor accuse the citizens of this community of not being
good Christians because the majority are choosing for themselves not to wear a mask, while I have seen him out around town not wearing one either. Shameful, unrighteous judgment and
dominion.
From everything I know of Christ and God, they DO NOT FORCE anyone to do something against their will. From all I've learned in church, and I know you all have learned the same, FORCE
IS SATAN'S WAY!!
Tell me, how do you think someone wearing a scrap of fabric, with no regulations as to the type of fabric or material, no specifics as to the type of mask that should be worn, no proof
that putting a scrap of fabric over your face will actually prevent germs from getting in to your body, is going to prevent people from getting sick?
Studies have shown that covid is spreading more rampantly in people who are consistently wearing masks, whereas people who are not wearing masks are less likely to get it. We have immune
systems for a reason. Wearing mask compromises our immune systems.
Where do you foresee this ending? This virus is not going anywhere. It will be around forever, just like the flu, the common cold, the chicken pox, the measles, etc. How long do you
plan to make us stop living our lives because of your irrational fear that someone might get sick? Someone might get sick with a virus that has a 99.998% recovery rate? People will
continue to get this virus. People still get the flu and more people have died from the flu, so why aren't you making a huge fuss over the flu?
This mask mandate proposal is an evil, tyrannical abuse of power with blatant disregard for the basic human rights of the people of this community! If you vote in favor of this, you
should be ashamed of yourself!
Elected officials can and will be replaced. The people are not happy with you and your abuse of power.
We know you are getting government kickbacks to keep the people sick and the economy down. The numbers are out there. The state of Idaho receives $100,000 per person who tests positive
for Covid. Why would that be? Because there are evil people trying to destroy our economy and force us in to socialism. Do some soul searching and ask yourselves if this is really
the type of people you want to be?
If you pass this communistic mandate, this community will lose businesses and people's business. The community as a whole will suffer, and right at Christmastime. The consequences
of that will rest on your heads.
I will not shop in a place where my freedoms are violated and stripped from me without my consent. I will take all my business elsewhere and I know others will do the same. Do you
want businesses in this town to close? Do you want people to lose their jobs? Do you want our local economy to suffer worse than it is? Because that is what will happen if you pass
this.
I heard one of you say that it is selfish to want our freedoms over someone else's safety. HOW WRONG YOU ARE!! My rights do NOT END where your fears begin!! It is not my responsibility
to keep someone else healthy or safe. That responsibility rests on you, just like it is my responsibility to keep myself healthy and safe. This mentality that I have to sacrifice
my rights and freedoms because someone is afraid of getting sick is corrupt and wrong.
If you want to wear a mask (which I have seen our own mayor out in public many times NOT wearing a mask), then you have every right to wear a mask. If I do not want to wear a mask,
I have every right to also make the choice not to wear a mask.
This mandate is not making you noble and good. It is making you the exact opposite!
Do not go down this rabbit hole.
From my understanding, the war before this earth life that continues even now and will continue until the Savior comes again, is over AGENCY!!!
Think carefully which side you want to be on. Will you stand with God on the side of FREEDOM and AGENCY? Or will you side with satan on the side of FORCE?
Choose wisely, for you will be held accountable!
