HomeMy WebLinkAboutMask ordinanceI heard that the City Council is meeting again this evening. If you are voting on the mask ordinance, please consider exemptions for those who cannot wear a mask, such as people with breathing problems, asthma, anxiety, PTSD, or other issues. It is not right to fine people who are unable to wear a mask, as it may cause them further health issues. Even the CDC lists exemptions on their website. I sent multiple studies and articles previously showing the risks and health issues associated with mask wearing, as well as the very high survival rate of this coronavirus. I hope that as a community that we can adopt the mentality of allowing us to make our own choices for our health and to help those who are high risk to take extra precautions. Healthy people should not be wearing masks and I believe it is not healthy for us to do so. Since there are risks associated with it, and the effectiveness of them is also in question, it is only reasonable to allow us to make our own health choices. I believe there are a lot more people that feel the same as I do based on others sharing their opinion with me, but they do not speak up for matters like these, unfortunately. I myself can not wear a mask because it gives me difficulty breathing, anxiety, and a horrible headache for the remainder of the day even wearing it for twenty minutes, most likely from oxygen deprivation and high carbon dioxide intake. Thank you for considering the deep concerns of a Rexburg citizen, for myself and my children and family, and all others that I believe will be put at higher risk of problems. Alicia
