Mandatory Mask Ordinance???
Mayor Jerry Merrill/Rexburg City Council:
It has been brought to my attention that the Rexburg City Council will be introducing and voting on a mandatory mask wearing mandate on 11/18/2020; which brings with it penalties as
severe as revoking a business license (Among other penalties) if a person or business does not comply. I hope that this is just more fake news that comes as a result of someone trying
to stir the COVID 19 pot. If there is any merit to this news and it is actually true; I am extremely concerned with the direction this city is going.
I can't imagine that I could say anything that you haven't already heard, but if nothing else, I will at least throw my name into the group that vehemently oppose this potential ordinance.
I could list several reasons why this is not only a bad idea, but even worse unconstitutional at its core.
Please vote AGAINST any type of mandate!
