Dear Scott:
As The City Council meets tomorrow, I hope you and the mayor will mandate masks in ANY public venue as well as in our businesses. A serious fine will make most grumblers take it seriously
and is needed as well.
It is past time; despite the vocal anti-maskers, we need to either close again or mandate masks. We are in the high risk category and our numbers must be brought lower to slow the COVID
pandemic in our local area without delay.
This is to keep our city safe, and our hospital short of the totally overrun status we are seeing across the country. Many governors and local governments are joining the sensible movement
to mask, in order to protect their citizens, schools and hospitals. We need to get on with it too!
In the school where I work, the employees are now required to wear masks and lately many have taken this to heart as without us, there would be no choice but to close schools. We see
a continuous trickle of students who are positive and no one seems to realize that each student infects their family. I am personally aware of this happening many times to my friends.
We need your support in the community! Masks will decrease the sickness whatever else we do.
Masks won't kill you... But if we won't wear them, we may be guaranteeing more people do die! Not in my Rexburg is my prayer.
Mask up for your neighbors Rexburg!
