First off I want to say that I am not opposed to wearing masks. However, I am opposed to the way this mandate is being enforced and punished. My questions regarding the proposed city mask mandate: Why is this mandate forcing business owners to be a police officer to customers/patrons and a parent to employees? If an employee refuses to wear a mask, what should I do? Fire them so that they can claim unemployment? Thereby increasing the amount I have to pay for unemployment now that I am short staffed because of sick employees and employees that were fired because they refuse to wear masks? Also, would I be correct in assuming that the next step, once there is a vaccine available, that the city would like to force everyone to get the vaccine because that would slow the spread and save lives? And, as part of that would require business owners to fire any employees who refuse to get the vaccine and refuse service to customers that don't have proof that they've had the vaccine? With as many responsibilities as business owners have, why are you forcing them to put their business at risk, after an already tough year caused by shut-downs, by giving them another responsibility on top of the many responsibilities business owners already have, including being an unpaid tax collector? Thank you for your time, Blake and Sarah Galbraith (new business owners, trying to start a business in the midst of a pandemic, and who that thought that Rexburg was going to be a good place to open a business) <16801cdd97bd4ce0992ffb2cc5ac2d86@CoR-EntMExSvr01.ci.rexburg.id.us> <CAEHArYx-Ju5a5SGeZCs4prDRNgSepEZvp1tJsacq-wf1x+fZ3Q@mail.gmail.com> <CAEHArYx-Ju5a5SGeZCs4prDRNgSepEZvp1tJsacq-wf1x+fZ3Q@mail.gmail.com> Scott Johnson EX /O=REXBURGCITYMAIL/OU=EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=SCOTT.JOHNSON EX /O=REXBURGCITYMAIL/OU=EXCHANGE ADMINISTRATIVE GROUP (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/CN=RECIPIENTS/CN=SCOTT.JOHNSON Scott Johnson Scott Johnson deborahl deborahl Scott Johnson Scott Johnson scott.johnson@rexburg.org scott.johnson@rexburg.org en-US <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-16"?> <EmailSet> <Version>15.0.0.0</Version> <Emails> <Email StartIndex="35" Position="Other"> <EmailString>blakesarahg@gmail.com</EmailString> </Email> <Email StartIndex="122" Position="Other"> <EmailString>scott.johnson@rexburg.org</EmailString> </Email> </Emails> </EmailSet> IPM.Note Internal BT=1;II=0101D6BE0728D8EA1232530BCB46B07386678125BD4DA9CE949FF0;SBMID=30;SBT=5;THA=646711993;FIXUP=41.7415;Version=Version 15.0 (Build 847.0), Stage=H7 en CoR-EntMExSvr01.ci.rexburg.id.us 04 [10.10.1.225] Deborah.Lovejoy@rexburg.org 00000002/o=RexburgCityMail/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=deborahl Deborah Lovejoy EX /o=RexburgCityMail/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=deborahl Deborah.Lovejoy@rexburg.org deborahl deborahl Deborah Lovejoy Deborah Lovejoy
