Subject:Rexburg City Council Members, Mask Mandate Concerns
Dear Rexburg City Council Members,
Let me start by thanking the entire council for your time and service, these are trying times and know that I do
appreciate your service to the City of Rexburg.
It has come to my attention that Rexburg City Council Members are intending to pass a mandatory mask mandate
ordinance requiring all businesses to enforce masks on employees and patrons.
I am neither anti-mask nor pro-mask, but I do recognize and understand there are strong opinions on both sides and
those opinions need to be both heard and respected and neither side should be dismissed.
As both a business owner and someone who has a medical condition and physically cannot wear a mask, I have a unique
perspective and concern on the matter and it’s conflicts of interest. I am a law abiding citizen, I know, support and
sustain the constitution and this mandate is unconstitutional.
I sincerely hope that the entire council will take the time to carefully and constructively read, hear, consider and address
the concerns of all of the citizens of Rexburg.
I personally attended the last city council meeting about a mask mandate in July and was appalled to be broadly labeled
as “selfish” by Mr. Brad Wolfe, I will never forget that incident. No side should ever, under any circumstances be labeled
as selfish by their own elected city officials, especially when only two people in attendance were allowed to express their
personal opinions, which was a stark contrast to the previous meeting the night before where almost every person in
attendance was allowed time to voice their opinion and concerns.
I implore each of you to carefully consider the consequences of such a mandate from all points of view.
I will personally attend tonight’s meeting and I plan to speak peace and reason to both sides in order to help open up a
truly constructive discussion.
Thank you again for your time and your service.
Sincerely,
Krista Flamm
