Subject:City Council Meeting Comments November 18, 2020
To whom it may concern:
I write today to express with all I have that you cannot pass this mask mandate. As a business owner that loves and
supports this community at every chance I am appalled that this discussion is even being held. I am sick to my stomach
and infuriated that you feel it your place to tell me how to run my business and threaten me with fines and the closing of
my business! My husband and I work countless hours every day to run a successful business and we do that on top of
raising our 4 children. We either bow to your overreach or have our doors closed. However, I also fear that with this
mandate many people will take their business to neighboring towns. (In fact, that is already what is being said on social
media) So even by complying our business will be hurt. How is this good for us or our community?!?!
From what I can tell our numbers have remained fairly stable. Have we every really believed that we would be able to
stop Covid? The point is to slow the rate of infection. I feel that has been accomplished without the forcing of people
and certainly businesses. Please allow us to continue to have the right to make choices for ourselves and for our
businesses that are OURS not YOURS.
