Subject:Mask mandate
I read that the Rexburg City Council is discussing an ordinance proposal requiring all businesses to require masks of both
patrons and employees or be fined and even possibly losing their business license. I do a lot of shopping in Rexburg and
if this ordinance passes, I will no longer be doing any business in Rexburg, I will travel to Idaho Falls for everything.
Passing this ordinance will hurt Rexburg’s economy and people are going to stop buying things and using Rexburg
businesses when they can simply drive other places and choose to spend their money elsewhere. I know you are trying
to stop the spread of the Covid 19 virus, but there are many people who cannot wear a mask (I being one of them) or
choose not to (which it should be their choice) and businesses should not be punished for either one of these. Please do
not pass this ordinance for the health of of our local economy.
