Many citizens and business owners of this city will not stand by and let the city government dictate what they can and cannot do when the so-called solution to this pandemic takes away their personal freedoms and also has shown to not make any difference whether or not we have a spike. How long have we been mandated to wear a mask? Have we eradicated this virus from our community? How much longer will we be muzzled as we try to live life normally? The answer most likely is- never. We will not control this virus! It is here. Some people will get sick. Some will die. Others won’t even know they have it. It’s just like everything else that could kill us, and we all take risks every day that we could die of. This virus is no different. Let us live our lives Instead of living in fear of what will happen to us if we violate your “mandate”. Many people are dying every day, not from Covid, but from the effects it is having on our society. People need people, and we all need social interaction. Let us make the choice to have that without a covered face! Fining businesses and citizens is not a solution. Forcing them to comply with your guidelines isn’t a solution either. We all know how to be respectful to others and will take the necessary precautions to take care of others in whatever circumstance we find ourselves each day. Your mandate will only cause more division, anger and possibly retaliation. We don’t need you to mandate how we should live, or act, or interact with others. Please stay out of our lives and businesses with this mask nonsense. Respectfully, Jared Klingonsmith 1
