HLE # 2.0206.0426 Dear Cameron: In regard to seismic design of the Teton River Village in Rexburg, Idaho the following is in accordance with the guidelines given in the 2000 International Building Code. Earthquake loading and site ground motion for the site are as follows. The maximum considered earthquake spectral response acceleration at short periods for this site is, Ss = 50% g and the acceleration at the 1 -second period is, S, = 18% g. Based on known geological conditions in the area the proposed the site is classified as a Site Class D. The maximum considered earthquake spectral response acceleration for short periods, Sms = 70% g, and the 1 -second period, SM1 = 37% g. The five -percent damped design spectral response acceleration at short periods, SDs = 47% g, and the 1 - second period, SD1= 25% g. Therefore the proposed structures for this property are assigned to the Seismic Design Category D. The soils located on this property do not appear to be particularly susceptible to liquefaction, surface rupture, or other earthquake hazards. We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with geotechnical services on this project. If you have any questions regarding this letter or any of our engineering, testing, or design services please feel free to get in touch with our office.
