I arrived on site at approximately 8:30 AM. Upon arrival at the specified time, there were no areas ready for
compaction testing. The contractor stated that their excavator had a broken component which caused them
to be behind on compaction. I took the first density reading at approximately 11:00 AM. On the first lift, the
contractor mixed native material with the pit run, causing the material to have a different proctor. They
utilized the same means and methods of compaction as with other successful lifts, which gave me
confidence that their compaction would be within the bounds of tolerance. I observed the contractor
utilizing a hoepack to achieve compaction.
