Model SDH
Description:
Model SDH is the new separated -combustion addition
to the Reznor@ line of Pre -Engineered Ventilation
Ail -handlers (PREEVA•"). Since the introduction of
separated -combustion technology, Reznor@ products
have been the industry standard.
This new separated -com bu sti on packaged heater is
engineered with that same quality plus many new
standard and optional features. Model SDH is
available in 11 sizes from 75MBH to 400MBH. Each
size is designed for a minimum of 81% thermal
efficiency and is available for use with either natural
gas or propane. Model SDH separated -combustion
heaters are approved for commercial/industrial
installations in the United States and Canada by ETL
Testing Agency.
Standard features include the Reznor@ TCORE20
heat exchanger and single burner combustion
system, a multi -try direct spark ignition with 100%
lockout, pressure switch to verify venter flow,
resiliently isolated venter motor, a high temperature
limit control, and a centrifugal belt -driven blower
capable of up to 3" w.c. of external static pressure.
Both the forward curved blower and the blower motor
are Factory installed on vibration isolation mounts. All
published airflow data and sound data are supported
by AMCA tested and rated airflow performance
curves. The energy usage of the system has been
designed to meet the current ASHRAE Standard 90.1
(@ 1.2bhp per 1000cfm). Operation is controlled
through an integrated circuit board. The circuit board
monitors heater operation and has LED diagnostic
indicator lights to identify abnormalities in heating
control functions.
optional features include three newly designed,
factory assembled, modular sections — a
draw -through cooling coil cabinet module with either
chilled water or DX coil; an inlet air mixing box
module with a variety of configurations and damper
options; and an evaporative cooling or electronic air
purifier module. A complete heating and cooling
advanced digital control package is available in
addition to common industry standard analog heating
only and makeup air controls.

PREEVATM is More Efficient Year Round
The PREEVA Series more accurately matches the load. saves
enerev, and provides consistent space comfort levels.

Load Operation
APR MAY - JUN JUL AUG bEF UUl
Cooling Advantages`:
Knowing that 95% of the time units run at off -design con-
ditions, ally settle for units that don't have the ability to pro-
vide multiple cooling stages,
The red curve in the graph (above left) reflects the average
monthly temperatures which correlate with the building load
requirements. With conventional systems of this type, you typi-
cally run at full load over the cooling demand, which is repre-
sented by the blue Design Load line at the top of the graph.
With the PREEVA Series, you have up to three stages (33%,
67% and 1o0n%) to provide the ability to efficiently match the
building cooling needs. By providing this multiple stage capa-
bility, you provide more accurate space temperatures and save
energy, as reflected by the shaded blue area in the graph.
Therc is another advantage to the multiple stage capacity
of the PREEVA Series. There is less on/off compressor cycling,
which can lengthen equipment life.
NOTE: Applicable when 1/3-2/3 cooling coils are specified. Integrated
cooling controls are optional. Condenser to be purchased separately.

Heating Advantages:
The PREEVA Series is also superior to conventional heat-
ing equipment.
The red line in the graph (above right) shows the PREEVA
Series heating efficiencies through a series of firing rates. High
efficiency (81%) is provided adlen the unit is at full rate. Thanks
to some innovative advancements by the Reznor Engineering
Team, the efficiencies remain high even when less than full rate
is required.
By operating at various firing rates, the right amount of
heating can be applied, matching the need, saving energy and
providing more even space temperatures for consistent comfort
levels.
The blue line shows the heating efficiencies for a conven-
tional heating system if it could operate at a range of firing
rates. The shaded area in between represents the improved effi-
ciencies realized with the PREEVA Series. improved efficien-
cies are reflected in lower operating costs.
