PURPOSE: The Applicant is requesting City Sewer and is seeking annexation. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN: Commercial CURRENT ZONING: Community Business Center (CBC) PARCEL SIZE: 0.624 Acres PROPERTY ID: RP06N39E239488 PROPERTY LOCATION: 15 N 12th W, Rexburg, ID 83440 APPLICABLE CRITERIA: Idaho State Code § 50-222 Annexation by Cities AUTHORITY: § 1.03.080. (D) “The Commission may recommend that the amendment be granted as requested, that it be modified, or that it be denied” I. BACKGROUND The subject property is adjacent to city limits on the city’s western border, just west of 12th W and north of W Main or Hwy 33. The Applicant is requesting to hook up to city sewer, which requires annexation. At this time, the Applicant is not requesting a zone change. II. SITE DESCRIPTION This location borders commercial uses to the north and a future a doctor’s office to the east. To the south, the land is designed as commercial, but is currently used as a single-family home and agriculture ground. To the west, there is a strip of Rural Residential, but the land is used as commercial. III. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends that the Commission take public testimony and determine if the proposed annexation can be approved, denied or approved with conditions. Staff has reviewed the application and found it meets the requirements for annexation.
