HomeMy WebLinkAboutMask Mandate (26)To whom it may concern:
I understand what a hard time this has been for our city and our economy as a city and there has been a lot of pressure put onto you guys as leaders of this community. I know that you
have received many mixed responses towards your recent announcement of discussing a mask mandate for the city of Rexburg and either way you decide to respond there will be hate thrown
in your direction.
Both of my jobs have greatly been effected by the recent pandemic. My hours have been dramatically decreased and due to me being in the beauty industry I also did not have my second
job for quite a few months causing me to not be as financially stable as I like to be. But even with all of that I never feared to go into public because of the virus. I never once
felt like my life was at risk because I did not have a mask on. I do understand that there are people who are more sensitive and if they were to get COVID then they are at a higher
risk. But those same people are at a higher risk to get the common cold and those people know how to protect themselves any ways from sicknesses as such.
I have seen many articles saying that people who have breathing or lung issues anyways should not be wearing a mask because it actually is causing more harm than good to them. So how
would you go about that? Those how have asthma are just exempt from wearing a mask? Making them wear a mask could be more life threatening than COVID actually is.
And children. I have seem some resources saying that there cannot be a requirement to make kids wear a mask? Is this true? Shouldn't we be protecting the kids more than the adults? Kids
lifes are more important and more at state than teens.
Making a city wear a mask that as shown to actually not have any safety towards COVID is so pointless and just puts everybody into a panic more than it should. As a city we should be
more focused on building the economy back up instead of a silly $5 mask. Stop giving into the media and the numbers the media has shown and talk to and discuss with the doctors who
have been named as the COVID doctors in Rexburg. The ones I have talked to have said the handful of cases they have actually seen for COVID were nothing more than just the common cold.
Don't let our city be one of the cities that gets so caught up in what the media is saying and focus more on the important things. Those who want to wear a mask should have the agencies
to do so. Every business I have been into has gone to great measures to make sure they are keeping everybody safe. and that is how it should stay. The city its self should not enforce
such mandate
