HomeMy WebLinkAboutMy voice about mask madateRexburg City Council,
Hi my name is Elizabeth Hill and I would like to express my concerns with the possible mandate to force the use of masks in Rexburg.
This all reminds me of the vaccine argument which brings up the question...If you believe vaccines work why would you be worried about me getting vaccinated, if you believe it works
then you're protected from me right??.. Same argument applies here, if you believe your mask works and is protecting you then why do I have to wear one? Shouldn't you be protected?
There is so much controversial information right now its hard to know what to believe... and you can pretty much find the information online to prove your side of the argument. If there
was inconclusive proof masks work I would comply with wearing a mask of my own free choice but it just isn't the case.
There are far too many opposing views and studies for each side. Plus the fact that WHO, Fauci and the CDC are constantly changing their opinions and recommendations. How do you mandate
something (that could potentially make healthy people sick from wearing them) based on ever changing information from our leaders. What about the healthy persons right to stay well
and continue to allow our healthy immune system to create new natural immunities as it designed to do??? It's just not right.
Also considering that the virus is fatal mostly only to the immuno-compromised people who are infected not the healthy average person. But if you want to make more people sick make them
wear masks. Here is some really good information to consider about the facts about the effects of wearing masks. Not to mention the oxygen deprivation inflicted while wearing them.

Many of us will just have to agree to disagree and be respectful of each other's view points. But forcing people to do something that is not proven to be effective or healthy is definitely
not the answer.
For me, if I'm with someone who is immuno-compromised I'll definitely be respectful and wear a mask for their sense of safety even if i don't believe in its effectiveness, if they do
then I will respect that. That being said, if someone is immuno-compromised it is their responsibility to take greater precations when going into the general public just as they would
have at any other time.
This virus has hurt our society in so many ways. I pray it will all end soon but in the meantime we need to keep our freedoms intact. Please vote NO to the mask mandate.
Thank you!!
Elizabeth Hill
