HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2020 - 08 Amending Comp Plan Map 397 Thomson Farms Rd to Commercial/ RESOLUTION FOR AMENDING VISION 2020 REXBURG COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MAP Resolution No. 2020 - 08 WHEREAS, on the 17th day of June, 2020, the City Council for the City of Rexburg was duly convened upon notice properly given and a quorum was duly noted; and WHEREAS, in a Rexburg Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on the 4th day of June, 2020, the Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing, taking public comment for and against the proposal to amend the Comprehensive Plan Map. The public hearing ended with a unanimous vote to recommend the proposed Comprehensive Plan Map change to City Council; and WHEREAS, in a subsequent City Council meeting on the 17th day of June, 2020, the City Council reviewed the findings from the Planning and Zoning Commission’s Public Hearing held on the 4th day of June, 2020; and WHEREAS, a comprehensive plan is a living document; an ongoing planning participation effort by the citizens of the community is encouraged to ensure changing conditions meet the needs of the community; and WHEREAS, proposed changes to comprehensive plan map can change land use designations; and WHEREAS, the following approved Land Use designation changes to the Comprehensive Plan Map on a North West portion of Thomson Farms from Commercial to Low-Moderate Density Residential and a South West portion of Thomson Farms from Low-Moderate Density Residential to Commercial at approximately 397 Thomson Farms Rd (20-00076) in the City of Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho and more particularly described as follows: Comprehensive Plan Map Amendment Legal Description: North West Portion of Thomson Farms from Commercial to Low-Moderate Density Residential: Commencing at the South Quarter of Section 17, Township 6 North, Range 40 East, in the City of Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho; thence North 00°06'00" West a distance of 1,151.410 feet; thence South 89°47'25" West a distance of 754.262 feet; thence North 00°06'00" West a distance of 619.099 feet to the Point of Beginning; and running thence South 89°46'13" West a distance of 225.617' feet to a point on a tangent curve; thence Westerly along a curve to the right having a radius of 961.00 feet and a chord bearing North 75° 03' 01.00" West a distance of 503.262 feet; thence North 59° 52' 15.00" West a distance of 301.078 feet; thence North 30° 07' 45.14" East a distance of 721.971 feet; thence North 89° 46' 13" East a distance of 608.245 feet; thence South 00° 06' 06" East a distance of 906.919 feet back to the point of said beginning. Having an area of 15.92 acres more or less. South West Portion of Thomson Farms from Low-Moderate Density Residential to Commercial: Commencing at the South Quarter of Section 17, Township 6 North, Range 40 East, in the City of Rexburg, Madison County, Idaho; thence North 00°06'00" West a distance of 1,151.410 feet; thence South 89°47'25" West a distance of 754.262 feet to the Point of Beginning; and running thence South 89°47'25" West a distance of 953.288' feet; thence North 00°31'55" West a distance of 184.57 feet; thence South 89°27'37" West a distance of 437.50 feet; thence North 30°07'45" East a distance of 835.009 feet; thence South 59°52'15" East a distance of 301.078 feet to a point on a tangent curve; thence Easterly along a curve to the left having a radius of 961.00 feet and chord bearing South 75° 03' 01.00" East a distance of 503.262 feet; thence North 89°46'13" East a distance of 225.617 feet; thence South 00°06'06" East a distance of 619.099 feet back to the point of said beginning. Having an area of 18.92 acres more or less. WHEREAS, the changes shown on the Comprehensive Plan Map dated June 17, 2020 have been approved by the City Council; NOW THEREFORE, by resolution duly adopted on the date first above written, be it resolved by the Mayor and the City Council the following: The City of Rexburg does hereby accept and adopt the said Comprehensive Plan Map Land Use Designations in the City of Rexburg Vision 2020 Comprehensive Plan.
